Brown On Climate Targets

19/11/07

Gordon Brown is set to outline climate targets during his first major speech concerning the environment.

He is expected to declare that urgent action is needed on climate change, and that developed countries should be leading the way.

Gordon is also expected to announce that the generation of new "green industries" could create thousands of jobs for U.K citizens.

Britain is acting on legislation which aims for reducing carbon emissions by as much as 60% by 2050.  Mr. Brown may decide to announce additional measures to double the current targets of renewable energy production by 2020.
