Energy Conservation

Energy conservation is the process of reducing energy consumption by using less of it so that there is more energy to go around. This process often involves sacrifices such as turning down the thermostat and ensuring electrical items aren’t left on their convenient ‘standby’ mode.

Although closely related, energy conservation is not technically the same as energy efficiency. The term energy efficiency should be used when referring to ways in which we can achieve the same outcome by consuming less electricity, such as replacing an outdated boiler with one that uses significantly less energy.

In this section we take a look at the topics relating to both energy conservation and energy efficiency.
